Brief:
Design a MVP consumer portal and setting up a component based workflow

Omniyou is the B2C brand of Omnigen, a DNA-driven company based in Rotterdam. I had the privilege to introduce one of my students to this project. Together with the Omnigen team we managed to setup a new brand, an optimised web shop, a fully functional user portal and various designs.

Card sorting and ‘Stop, start and continue’

For the kick off we did a quick scrum exercise. What are the things we need to stop doing, what do we need to start doing and what are the things we need to continue doing? Educating our clients with the agile way of working and using a co-creation approach (because they know the best about their brand) was the best way to kick this off. We finished the session with card sorting to prioritise the items of the navigation bar.

Get to the DNA - Design system & language

Starting from scratch is sometimes a good thing. Building a solid design system and a universal design language was our goal. Every component is like a string of DNA. A modular setup for a future proof system. The hand off to business, content editors, developers and marketeers was a piece of cake with the use of Figma. The communication was clear and all the stakeholders could participate in the design process.
